A Well-Loved and Respected Member Crosses the Bar
It is with enormous sadness that I have to inform you all of the passing of Bryan Sautelle-Smith, F25 Emma II on 12 April 2025.
His funeral details are:
Tuesday 20th May, 11 a.m. at The Church of St. Stephen, Nanstallon, Nr. Bodmin, PL30 5LZ. All FOA members are welcome to attend.
For more information please contact me (Steve White, Commodore FOA via this site or www.fisherowners.org.)
Bryan was Rear Commodore Southwest & West for many years and he was our expert in all things legal and administrative. A truly lovely gentleman, he brought his own style to the leadership of the region; for those of you lucky enough to have joined in with Bryans Rallies à la Carte and Noggin & Natters social events ashore, you will know what lovely people were found in Bryan and Ellie. With Ellie in full support, he quietly made things happen for his FOA region.
Who will ever forget his wonderful terminology for things to do with our little ships?
Fisher Fettling is the one that I will always remember and I use quite regularly. I have changed the new websites Knowledge Base title to Fisher Fettling in Bryans memory. The fact that a number of articles in the section were produced by Bryan is enough to warrant this change. His skills especially at woodwork were legendary.
Bryan handed over his Rear Commodore flag to Andrew Thompson about 18 months ago but continued joining in with the region activities.
Thank you Bryan for all your hard work and support over the many years of FOA membership; you are already sorely missed.
Steve White
FOA Commodore
