FISHER OWNERS ASSOCIATION AGM 1 NOVEMBER 2025

Our AGM, expertly organised by our Social Secretary Vicky, was held over the first weekend of November at the Glasgow Argyll Hotel. We were looked after beautifully by the staff and apart from an early morning (fire) alarm on the Sunday morning, it was a lovely weekend.

As part of the activities,  Vicky had also arranged a visit to the Tall Ship Glenlee, alongside on the Clyde next to the Riverside Museum, which also turned out to be well worth visiting.

The AGM was very fruitful.  We had approximately 10% of the membership attending and the discussions were very productive, including a plea from the commodore for volunteers to step up to share the load.    Being on the committee is not onerous so long as there are enough people sharing the load.

I am particularly delighted to report that THREE members have volunteered to join us on your Committee:

David Dawson (F37 Lunga) has come forward to be our new Secretary, relieving Derek Colman (F30NE Tarquin) who had been onboard for 15 years.   David hoists his Vice Commodore flag in Lunga.  David is a retired chartered accountant and life long sailer, with long experience of sailing club operations.

Catherine Bunn (F34 PJ Fisher) has come forward to be our Assistant Webmaster.  With her experience in web design,  her coming forward now has been most welcome as we are about to launch this new website.

Barbara White (F34 Wight Mistress)  has offered to continue her work supporting the South & Channel Islands Region.  Her work has gone on behind the scenes already for 2 years, supporting the Rear Commodore with local events, and supporting the Commodore with NEPTUNE 80 in 2024.
